Vespa custom

The historical MVAgusta 98 "Vespa" in a custom virtual  transformation.

The "98" was the first MV Agusta tourism. This bike was introduced under the name "Vespa 98". The name was decided personally by Count Domenico Agusta, inspired by the buzz of the two-stroke engine. Shortly afterwards, the MV Agusta was sued for the use of the name "Vespa", by the Balsamo brothers who had filed the brand for their Miller Vespa  motorcycle in 1934. Once the litigation ended, the Balsamo brothers sold the brand name "Vespa" to the Piaggio industries, who used it for their scooter now famous worldwide.

La "98" fu la prima MV Agusta turistica. Fu presentata col nome "Vespa 98", personalmente deciso dal Conte Domenico Agusta, ispirato dal ronzio del motore a due tempi. Poco dopo, la MV Agusta ricevette la formale diffida all'uso del nome "Vespa", da parte dei fratelli Balsamo che l'avevano depositata per il loro modello Miller Vespa del 1934. Conclusa la vertenza legale, i fratelli Balsamo alienarono il marchio "Vespa" alla Piaggio che lo utilizzò per il suo scooter, oggi di fama mondiale.
